The piece

Orbe, referring to an orb or spherical form, takes its name from the wooden sphere that defines the character of the piece.

Designed as a contemporary interpretation of the traditional bedroom bench, ORBE transforms a functional bed-end banquette into a sculptural object. The design explores the relationship between soft and solid, textile and timber, linear and circular forms, creating a piece that feels both architectural and inviting.

Design Details

The defining feature of ORBE is its deliberately asymmetrical support system. One side of the upholstered seat flows continuously downward toward the floor, creating a soft inverted-L silhouette. The opposite side is supported by a large spherical timber element.

Rounded corners, concealed connections and minimal visible hardware preserve the purity of the form and make the banquette appear as though the upholstered volume is balancing naturally against the wooden sphere.
